Co - President

Kaitlyn is in the class of 2026 and studying Government and English. Her research interests lie in foreign policy, immigrant/refugee rights, and educational equity. Her issue area is Governance & Society.
Co - President

Karen Yang is Co-President of HUTT and a sophomore studying History and Economics! Previously, she has been the Issue Area Director of the Governance and Society branch of HUTT. In her free time, you can find her hunting for matcha or curating Spotify playlists.
Director of Research
Jenny, a sophomore double concentrating in Government and Slavic Languages & Literatures, is proud to serve as Director of Research this year. Her research interests focus on territorial disputes and ethnic tensions in the post-Soviet sphere. This summer, she will be interning at the International Centre for Defense and Security in Estonia.
Director of AI and the Environment

Simon is a junior studying Statistics and Linguistics, and is the working group director for AI & the environment in HUTT. Previously, he has worked in evidence-based policy making for the Japanese government and (prior to college) worked for the Singapore Police Force for 2 years.
Director of Governance & Society

Hugo is a first-year studying Government and Sociology. He is a working group director in HUTT, and was previously a Governance and Society fellow. He is passionate about education, immigration/refugee, and economic policy.
Director of Great Power Competition

Nellie is a sophomore neuroscience concentrator and is very excited to be in her first semester with HUTT as the Great Power Competition working group director. She has worked with policy writing as a member of the Harvard Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative as well as the Army ROTC Military Strategy Initiative. She loves continuing to explore policy with HUTT!
Director of Sustainability Policy

Malachi is a Sophomore in Adams studying Linguistics and Economics. He is the director of the working group for sustainability policy, and looks forward to the future of HUTT and the evolution of our research. He is from Colorado, and thus believes that west coast is best coast, but that alpine deserts are best.
Director of Operations

Virgil Guo is a freshman at Harvard College, planning on studying Statistics and Chemical and Physical Biology. He currently serves as HUTT's Director of Operations, organizing fireside chats throughout the semester, and has worked on previous projects such as The Bipartisan Divide Between Long COVID and Pediatric Cancer Research, The Controversial Return of the Orange Roughy Supertrawler in Australia, and the Impacts of Joe Manchin's Personal Interests in Climate Change.
